Welcome to FUN FOLK ART

Fun Art.  That defines my art. My mixed media consists of Jewelry, Fused Glass, Wood, Leather, Ceramics and Oven Baked Clay ( fimo & sculpey). I paint scenes  onto my own Music Boxes, work in Tile and Fabric Art, and Paint. Cat Toys, Various Dolls and Other Creatures, and whatever else I can create with my hands. I get my ideas from art I see in galleries, fairs, museums, art shows and other artists, plus art  from places I’ve traveled to.

I also taught Folk Arts and Crafts to men and women in recovery and Veterans to broaden their ideas of what they can create with limited resources.  Their art is under Art Service Classes.

I work in my studio in Gold Canyon, Arizona, & the Fired Arts Building, MountainBrook Village..

I hold both B.A.’s and M.A.’s in Art Education from San Francisco State University, where I focused on teaching art to adults.

I was a participating artist in the Marin Open Studios held every May, in Marin County, CA.

I was an artist with Mark Drive Studios in San Rafael, CA, previous to arriving in Arizona.

I also entered my art in the Marin County Fair annually and won in many categories.

I volunteered as the Director/Art Instructor of a program with the Mesa Art League Veterans Program called Healing Through Art, at the Mesa Active Adult Center in Mesa, AZ.

I also teach Arts & Crafts Classes at Hope Women’s Center in Apache Junction, AZ.

I lead the Jewelry/Beading Group and wearable arts at Mountainbrook Village in Gold Canyon.

My Bola Ties & Rings have been sold at the Handmade Creations Marketplace in Mesa, AZ.

October-April my art is at the EarthHeart Park in Apache Junction, on 1st Saturdays 9-1pm.

This may be my last post since iWeb is no longer being supported by Apple. (11/1/19)
