Welcome to FUN FOLK ART

Fun Art.  That defines my art. My mixed media consists of Jewelry, Paper Arts & Crafts, and Oven Baked Clay ( fimo & sculpey). I paint scenes  onto my own Music Boxes, work in Tile and Fabric Art, and knit colorful hats. Pet Toys, Various Dolls and Other Creatures, and whatever else I can create with my hands. I get my ideas from art I see in galleries, fairs, museums, art shows and other artists, plus art  from places I’ve traveled to.

I also taught Folk Arts and Crafts to men and women in recovery and Veterans to broaden their ideas of what they can create with limited resources. Sometimes we painted objects, or made books or deconstructed art to make something else, as is often the case in found objects. I’ve included some examples of their art on this site under Art Classes.

I work from a studio in Gold Canyon, Arizona. You’ll find more information on my upcoming art events page, whenever I am in a show.

I hold both B.A.’s and M.A.’s in Art Education from San Francisco State University, where I focused on teaching art to adults.

I was a participating artist in the Marin Open Studios held every May, in Marin County, CA.

I was an artist with Mark Drive Studios in San Rafael, CA, previous to arriving in Arizona.

I also entered my art in the Marin County Fair annually and won in several categories.

Presently, I volunteer as an Art Facilitator with the Mesa Art League Veterans Program called Healing Through Art, at two Active Adult Centers in Mesa, AZ.

I also teach various Arts & Crafts Classes at the MountainBrook Village in Gold Canyon, AZ.
